My New Radio Show is Launched!

About 3 years ago, I created a vision board. Not really knowing what I was doing, I decided to include an eclectic mix of items that belonged to 1 of 3 possible categories: "achievable", "somewhat achievable" and "ohhh, that would be nice, but it will never happen." One of the items in the last category was having a radio show. I never looked into it what would be involved to do it, of course, because I never considered it was even a possibility back then.

Things changed this past June when, completely out of the blue, I received a call from a Producer of an Internet Radio Station. She asked if I would be interested in hosting my own show. I thought - where else could this have come from other than that vision board that's been sitting collecting dust in my storage room for 3 years! Of course, I was interested - scared - but interested. From there, interviews and negotiations began. I decided to seek out other talk show hosts out there who may be able to provide me with some advice - one of which was the very talented, award-winning talk radio host, Dr. Pat Baccili.

Dr. Pat and I had an instant connection from the word "go". She was funny, intelligent, and very caring in a motherly yet best girlfriend kind of way. It turned out she was starting her own talk radio network, and asked if I'd be interested in joining her. The great thing was that, with her network, the show would be aired on "normal" radio on WBLQ covering areas of Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York, as well as on the Internet. Even better, she would personally mentor me. So, in a nutshell, that's how it all came together.

I offer all my gratitude to Dr. Pat for helping me to make this transition into a talk radio host. I have plenty to learn, and will likely make many mistakes (as I already have), but I'm glad to know she supports me and cheers me on. I look forward to a long friendship and partnership. Also thanks go out to Chris DiPaola, the owner of WBLQ who has been so patient with me as I try to figure out when to talk, when to move to break, and when to keep my mouth shut. Also, thanks go to my husband, Rob, my sister Elaine, Erin and TJ from the Bodymind Centre, and my BFF Jenn, who were the only people I shared this with in the beginning. Thanks for your support.

Tune in to the show to see what's happening. I'm interviewing some amazing transformers and even best-selling authors out there who are really making a difference. Go to www.thedrpatshow.com for more info.

What have I learned from all this? I make plenty of mistakes, but they don't immobilize me anymore. I'm okay with them, as long as I learn from them; and VISION BOARDS DO WORK - who knew?
